In a bid to strengthen and re-engage Fiji’s sprawling Diaspora across North America, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Communications Manoa Kamikamica held talks in Ontario to promote investments and trade from Canadian-based investors in areas related to tourism, real estate, agriculture and renewable energy.

Kamikamica, says since landing in Toronto two days ago, they can already confirm the potential opportunities that could be unlocked for both Canada and Fiji.

He says he knows some of them have become successful in their journey in Canada and all he asks is for them to give back to their country and together rebuild our Fiji.

Ontario’s Minister for Citizenship and Multiculturalism, Michael Ford emphasized the importance of diversity in Ontario and highlighted shared history and cultural ties with Fiji during the Fiji North-America Business Mission, Ontario Business Forum yesterday.

Ford says they take immense pride in considering Fiji not only a friend but also a valued partner.

He says Canada and Fiji’s partnership has spanned decades and is bolstered by their shared history.

He expressed gratitude to the vibrant Fijian community in Ontario, whose contributions have been invaluable to the country’s social, economic, and cultural prosperity.

The Fiji delegation has been part of the two-week-long Fiji North-America Business Mission, organized by Investment Fiji and the Fiji Trade Commission North America as well as the Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications.
