Local singers, Vasiti Nakautoga, also known as DeeVa, and Wilo Usuramo who are part of Resonance Entertainment, have released the theme song for Hibiscus Festival 2024 called Suva.

Suva is one of the singles in the Adi Senitoa.

DeeVa and Wilo shared their excitement about the release of their new track, which pays homage to the city they love and they hope it will become Suva’s theme song.

While speaking with fijivillage News, Usuramo says the song was inspired by the anticipation surrounding the Hibiscus Festival.

Usuramo says the unique experience of working on the track was amazing, noting that the amount of work involved was unlike anything they had experienced before.

He says this is just the beginning, with much more to come.

DeeVa says she has been performing on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the Grand Pacific Hotel with fellow artist Naomi at Resonance.

She says the collaboration between the artists extends beyond music, as Wilo primarily works as a photographer and videographer for Resonance.

The song was written by Kuki and produced by Canaan, who has worked on most of the tracks for the Adi Senitoa album.

Deeva also urges the public to come out and enjoy the performances lined up for the Hibiscus Festival. She adds Fiji’s first all-female band, 'Marama' will also perform on the 6th of September.

The 68th anniversary of the Miss Hibiscus Festival will be held from the 31st of this month to the 7th of September at the Suva Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre.
