Decision-making crucial for Drua against the Brumbies after disappointing win last week

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will need to improve on their decision-making this weekend when they take on the Brumbies in round 10 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific in Canberra.

Poor decision-making was evident in their 24-17 win over Moana Pasifika last week in Lautoka which prevented them from scoring more points that could have prevented the opposition from securing a bonus point loss.

Coach Mick Byrne revealed that the players were disappointed after that game knowing they could have done more than enough in the last 10 minutes of the game to get a bonus point victory.

He says the disappointment was not against Moana Pasifika but it was just on where the team were in the stage of the game.

Byrne says at this time of the year, every win is important at any stage, but when a team is in the top 8, they have to keep winning so that they don’t have to rely on other games to determine their fate in the competition.

He says at the moment, that is where the Drua is, but from his view as a coach, they have come a long way but is still disappointed with the win.

The Drua will take on the Brumbies at 9.35pm this Saturday.

In other round 11 matches this week, the Hurricanes host the Waratahs at 7.05pm Friday, the Rebels meet the Blues at 9.35pm Friday, Moana Pasifika will play the Highlanders at 2.05pm Saturday, the Crusaders meet the Reds at 4.35pm Saturday and the Chiefs take on the Force at 7.05pm Saturday.
