Dairy farmers in lockdown areas can access emergency supplies of feed supplements for half the value as Fiji Cooperative Dairy Company Limited has been rolling out the subsidy program in partnership with Fiji Dairy Limited.

In order to support Dairy farmers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Fiji Cooperative Dairy Company Limited is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Trade and Transport and the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure that dairy farmers continue to provide milk for the nation.

CEO, Kushmendra Prasad says they want milk production to increase despite the pandemic and COVID-19 should not affect milk production in lockdown areas.

He says dairy farmers in lockdown areas like Sawani-Serea can access emergency supplies of feed supplements for half the value.

Prasad says the farmers in lockdown areas can arrange delivery of supplies from FCDCL chilling centers which can be supplied at the borders.

He says the transport of these supplies to the border will be free of charge.

Prasad has urged dairy farmers to follow proper protocols at the border.

Prasad has thanked the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Trade & Transport, and the Ministry of Agriculture for their support.

Dairy farmers can contact FCDCL on 3470007, 3470008, 9982277 to get the supplies they need.

They can also call Prasad on 9982243.
