DXC Army Green survives last-minute thriller in Marist 7s Super Pool opener

Defending champions of the 2024 Fiji Bitter Marist 7s, the DXC Army Green team, escaped with a last-minute try to defeat Warden Gold 17-12 in the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s Super Pool Round 1 competition at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

The Army Officers scored a total of three tries with two unconverted and one converted try to claim the win.

TEMC Warriors also caused an upset in the Super Pools by defeating BLK Lavidi Brothers 12-5.

Earlier this afternoon, Flame Tree Waimanu defeated Bureta Young Boys 15-12, Saint Gabriel thrashed TEMC Naboutini 45-0, Raviravi Rugby Club also thrashed Natumua Young Boys 21-0, Bula Ballers Tako Lavo beat VBM Dayals Black Heron 22-14 while Kavala Bay Babas defeated Ravoravo 14-0.

Vanuavou Sting Ray edged Bay Side Brothers Loa 21-17, Uluinakau Babas defeated Bilolevu Wainimala 12-5, Mana Magicians lost to Warden Green 19-7, DXC Army Red beat Marist 14-0, Yavirau edged Serua Cagivou 7s 10-7, Dominion Brothers thrashed Marist St Joseph Samoa 24-0 and Brother defeated Flametree Waimanu 7-0.

Meanwhile, the Women's semifinal competition this afternoon will see the Seahawks facing Lilian Amazon at 4:50pm, while Striders take on the Navy Women at 5:05pm.
