Suspended Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho

Prime Minister and the Chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission, Sitiveni Rabuka says pursuant to section 137(3)(a)(i) of the Constitution, the Commission considered and made a resolution on the membership of the Tribunal to investigate allegations of misbehaviour against the suspended Commissioner of Police, Sitiveni Qiliho.

He says the Commission has also approved the Terms of Reference for the Tribunal.

Rabuka says following the appointment of the tribunal to investigate allegations of misbehaviour against the suspended Commissioner of Police, the Commission has approved the Gazette notice for the appointment of the tribunal members.

The Prime Minister also says that the Commission has resolved to commence the recruitment process for a new Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service with the publication of the advertisement for the position.

He says the Commission has further resolved to appoint a three-member selection panel to interview applicants and members of the Commission have been invited to provide nominations for the panel which will be deliberated at the next Commission meeting.

Rabuka adds the Commission has also resolved to consider and provide comments on the draft Standard Operating Procedures for the COC, prepared by the Secretary which will be deliberated at a later meeting of the Commission.
