Colgate-Palmolive has handed over Bright Smile, Bright Future kits to the Fiji National University, Ministry of Health and Fiji Dental Association today at their office in Wailekutu, Lami.

Colgate-Palmolive Country Manager Fiji and Pacific Islands, Adrian Romanin, says it is important to spread awareness that gum disease, which is linked to broader systemic issues including heart disease, diabetes and respiratory infection, can occur if oral health is not given priority.

Romanin says they believe everyone deserves a future they can smile about, and so far, they have about 16,000 kits, which will be distributed to the schools across Fiji for World Oral Health Day on the 20th of this month.

The Country Manager says the kits include educational materials, toothbrushes and toothpaste to ensure oral hygiene is maintained.

He says they are working with their key partners on outreach across Fiji and the Pacific Islands, with school visits and community events.

Romanin adds as part of the World Oral Health Day celebration, they are inviting the public to join in a march for oral awareness on the 20th of this month from the Flea Market.
