Civil servants receive appreciation for their pivotal role in advancing Fiji

Civil servants in the Western division were lauded by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka for their pivotal role in administering and advancing Fiji. In a meeting, Rabuka reiterated the crucial role of civil servants as the driving force behind the effective functioning of the government machinery.

He says politicians are elected to lead the implementation of policies while the fulfilment of public aspirations depends on the dedicated efforts of civil servants.

He urged civil servants to be innovative and dynamic emphasising the need for increased efficiency and improved services to meet the expectations of the public effectively.

The Prime Minister says the first challenge is to repair the damages to the nation and emphasises the ongoing efforts towards infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction, with a focus on addressing essential sectors such as roads, bridges, water supplies, healthcare, education and electricity provisions.

Rabuka further says they are now engaged in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the amenities however, it will take some time to accomplish it.

He adds by emphasising the government's dedication to streamlining bureaucratic processes to facilitate a more conducive environment for investors.
