China donates $10,000 to Fijiana 7s in support of women empowerment

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team has received $10,000 from the People's Republic of China, demonstrating China's firm support for women's development in Fiji.

While speaking at the International Women's Day celebration at the Chinese Embassy, Ambassador Zhou Jian said this contribution showcases China and Fiji’s strong commitment to women empowerment.

Jian says this donation would also help the women's s rugby team continue their legacy and achieve greater success.

First Lady Emily Lalabalavu says when women are supported in the right environment, they thrive.

Lalabalavu also wished the Fijiana team success in all the international tournaments they will be competing in.

She adds women always turn challenges into success.
