SODELPA MP, Mosese Bulitavu says he has unfinished business in SODELPA and he will stay with the party for now but has also called on the party leader, Viliame Gavoka to resign after the leader lost the case today.

After winning his case in court today, Bulitavu says the truth has prevailed and it was very clear from the ruling that there was no party vote and directive for the SODELPA MPs to vote against the National Budget and Bill 17.

He says he will continue his fight in SODELPA for now and also continue to raise questions on how the parliamentary grant to the party is utilised and why the MPs are no longer signatories for the grant and the funds contributed by the MPs.

Bulitavu says that he had said that he would resign if he would lose the case and Gavoka should resign if he loses.

He says it is time for Gavoka to resign.

The SODELPA MP also says that he is looking at which party to join for the 2022 general elections however he says he is happy that Rabuka’s party is registered and that the FijiFirst is also governing the country well.

Meanwhile, Gavoka says he has accepted the ruling by the Chief Justice and is urging their members to move on.

He says the SODELPA parliamentarians were voted into parliament by some 181,072 SODELPA voters, who everyday watch how their parliamentarians behave.

Gavoka says they all witnessed what Bulitavu did, and he took the actions on behalf of their voters.

The SODELPA Leader says this is the first-time Section 63 (1) has been tested by the Court of Disputed Return since the Constitution came into effect in 2013 and this section was not available in the 1970, 1990, and 1997 Constitutions.

Gavoka adds they lost before the Speaker of Parliament and the Chief Justice in the Court of Disputed Return, but it does not mean that they will let up in monitoring the performance of the parliamentarians in honouring their obligations to fight for issues important to SODELPA.
