Bringing back these international events will strengthen sports, business confidence and adventure tourism while the goal is to create products for everyone with a diversified base.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka, while speaking at the launch of the Fiji Spartan Trifecta sporting event at the Aviva Race Course in Sabeto, Nadi.

He says this sporting event is unique and will open up several opportunities for tourism in Fiji and give a boost to economic growth.

Gavoka says a great deal in the hosting events was witnessed and the potential to further elevate Fiji’s brand, but that’s not the sole case of capabilities and the potential to create economic returns and what better time than now.

He further says our recent numbers have actually had a 2.5 percent growth and that's a recovery of 102.5 percent.

Gavoka adds residents are staying longer spending more and doing more and we want to build on that and give people as many reasons as possible to visit our shores.

The event will be the first of its kind to be held in Fiji in November this year and will consist several challenges competed by world leading athletes, however, it is open to the locals as well.
