Barter for Better Fiji Page Admin Marlene Dutta says nothing done within the group is for any form of monetary gain and has deemed all claims relating to this as baseless.

She made these comments on a post in the Barter for Better Fiji Group on Facebook.

Dutta has also confirmed to LegendFM News that they are seeking legal advice and do not wish to comment on this for now.

She says they have been very transparent with their intentions from the beginning.

Dutta says they had earlier planned to ignore the claims and let the experiences and beautiful stories of the group speak for itself adding that sometimes these things need to be addressed.

She goes on to say in the post that there have been personal attacks, threats and harassment experienced which has been emotionally exhausting for them but it is not new.

Dutta adds that it has given them more reasons to continue to be kind, to love and continue to promote good and kindness.

She says there have been clear guidelines set for the group.

According to the guidelines, members are to make non-cash exchanges.

The group has been operational for over two months now.
