Sadasivan Naicker and Parveen Bala

Differences have emerged within TISI Sangam as Sadasivan Naicker claims he is still the President of the religious organization while the Interim Chairman of TISI Sangam, Parveen Bala says Naicker is no longer the President of Sangam.

Naicker who has been announced as the provisional candidate for the People's Alliance, is calling on Bala to stop using Sangam as a platform to campaign for the 2022 general election.

He claims it is also becoming clear that Parveen Bala was the enabler in terms of providing a platform to Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to speak at the Howell Road temple fire walking pooja.

Naicker says this must stop, and as an organization, Sangam should not be consumed by political divisions.

When contacted by fijivillage, Bala says Naicker’s statement is not worth commenting on.

He stresses that Naicker is no longer the Sangam President.

When questioned by us on who is running the operations of TISI Sangam, Naicker confirms Bala is in charge as the Interim Chairman however Naicker claims he is still the President and no elections have been called for the organization in the last 5 months.

Naicker says in the last 3 months, some members are raising concerns about FijiFirst officials and ministers appearing at temples and other institutions.

He says that the organization is not part of any political party, and the members are free to vote as per their wishes.

When asked on him joining the People’s Alliance, Naicker stresses that he has never been to any of the institutions of TISI Sangam after he was announced as a provisional candidate.

He says Bala should stop these games.

Bala will not make further comments.
