Leader of the Opposition, Voreqe Bainimarama and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka

Leader of the Opposition and member of the Constitutional Offices Commission, Voreqe Bainimarama and his nominee, Tupou Draunidalo walked out about one hour into the commission meeting yesterday.

fijivillage News approached Bainimarama outside Suvavou House to get his thoughts on the commission discussions but he refused to make any comments.

Speaking after the commission meeting, Prime Minister and Chair of the commission, Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed that Bainimarama and Draunidalo did not want to participate further in the discussions.

We are also awaiting comments from Bainimarama regarding our questions sent to Bainimarama and the FijiFirst Party.

Following the confirmation by FFP General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum that Bainimarama had written to President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, we have asked the former Prime Minister what is he seeking from the President.

We also asked what are his issues of concern and has there been any response from the President.

fijivillage News has also asked Bainimarama if he has met with the President.

We understand Bainimarama had raised concerns about some issues discussed in the commission meeting.
