A Sydney based group has helped more than 200 families since the COVID-19 pandemic began in Fiji and intends to assist even more families as soon as possible.

Humdard Incorporated member, Jiten Lal says their group consists of 10 former Fijians whose main objective is to assist underprivileged people in Fiji.

He says they do activities such as selling food packs and organising charity shows to raise funds that are then sent to their member, Premila Kumar in Fiji who is in charge of facilitating the assistance in Fiji.

Lal says they have assisted 280 families with basic food packs since the pandemic began.

He says because of the lockdown in Sydney, they are currently not able to organise any activities.

He adds 280 students were assisted last year and are planning to do more fundraising activities to be able to assist more students.

Lal has also highlighted that these hardships will not last forever.

He says you need to find strength from within yourself and overcome the challenges that you are facing and also adds that the only way we can get out of this predicament is to get vaccinated.

If you need assistance or know someone who needs help then you can email Humdard Incorporated on humdard.inc@hotmail.com.
