The Adi Maopa Secondary School management is thankful for the tremendous support that has been shown towards their athletics team who are in the containment area at Wainitarawau settlement in Cunningham.

19 athletes of Adi Maopa Secondary School from Lau took part in the Maritime Zone at the ANZ Stadium last Monday.

Assistant Principal Eta Kaseni says they are grateful to receive food and essential items from the people.

She says they would like to thank the Minister of Defence Inia Seruiratu and the Commissioner Central and the Qarase sisters of Santa Rosa for the donations that were received yesterday.

Kaseni says they have sufficient supplies that can last them through the 14 days and if people wish to assist, they should drop the assistance at the checkpoint.

She further says they would also want to acknowledge the Wainimako Church Community for approving the extension of their stay at the church hall for free after the hired period had come to end.

She adds the management would also like to thank Kundan Singh Supermarket, Akaripa Seuvou and family, Vanuabalavu Vision Limited, Vanuabalavu Community in Suva, WO2 Saradamu, Mago, Hot Bread Kitchen, the RFMF COVID Relief Operations team and Sister Sereima Tavi and family for their assistance during their stay.

She has assured families of the athletes in Lau that the students are healthy and safe.

The group is travelling with the School Principal, four teachers and two mothers who volunteered to cook for the team.
