The Leader of Unity Fiji, Savenaca Narube says the facts speak louder than words and everyone knows the achievements of this Government are the poorest ever in our history.

While reacting to the statement by Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama at the Namosi Provincial Council Meeting where he blamed opposition parties for discrediting government’s good work and spreading false information, Narube says this government has dictated rather than listened.

Narube says the government has consistently chosen not to consult the landowners on changes to the laws about their land and now, when they know that they would not win this election, the Prime Minister chooses to blame the opposition parties.

The former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji says words alone ring hollow to the people and they need the truth.

He says the resource owners continue to be one of the poorest in the country and the production of sugar, agriculture, gold, timber, and fish have been tumbling during the tenure of this government.

While responding to Bainimarama’s comments that politicians have tried to stop schools and businesses from opening post-COVID and this shows that they give up easily and are not fit to form a Government, Narube says they were only urging the Prime Minister to control the spread of the virus to save people from dying.
