971 graduates from the College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences have been reminded to carry not only intellectual expertise but also compassion, empathy, and a commitment to ethical conduct.

While speaking on the second day of FNU graduation at the Vodafone Arena today, University Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba whether they wear the scrubs or wield the stethoscope, their role will always demand empathy, expertise, and unwavering commitment.

She says in the quiet moments when the weight of the day presses upon them, they must remember that they are not just a professional; they are a custodian of humanity's health.

Professor Nabobo-Baba says they believe in shaping a future that celebrates the unique contributions of indigenous languages and cultures, both in Fiji and beyond.

She says as they embark on their professional journey, she hopes they too will honour these principles in their work and in their service to humanity.

Professor Nabobo-Baba also applauded the parents for their indispensable role in the graduates' journeys, providing unwavering support, encouragement, and countless sacrifices.

She says today, they stand alongside the graduates, not as mere spectators but as pillars of strength and beacons of unwavering love.

Chief Guest, Airports Fiji Limited Chief Executive Officer Mesake Nawari says the graduation was a testament to the graduates' resilience and determination.

He says as they stand on the threshold of their professional careers, he acknowledges the hard work, sacrifice, and passion that has brought them to this moment.

Nawari is urging them to carry with them lessons they have learned at the Fiji National University; lessons not just in medicine, health sciences, and nursing, but also in empathy, ethics, and social responsibility.

He has also reminded them that their work is not only about healing bodies, but also about understanding people, addressing their needs, and ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background, have access to the care they deserve.

A total of 971 graduates graduated, with 227 males, 744 females, and 269 regional and international students.
