This Christmas has become a bit more special for 600 children of Collection Pillars of Recycling from various areas in Sigatoka, Lautoka, Ba, Rakiraki, and Labasa as they received gifts from the Pacific Recycling Foundation as part of their annual Christmas and Stationery drive.

PRF Founder, Amitesh Deo says the children’s faces lit up with joy, their laughter filling the air; capturing the true essence of the festive season when they received their gifts.

Deo says this Christmas Gift and Stationery Drive is a reminder to adults of what it is like to be children again, where they find happiness in little things, where there are no limits to imagination, and where miracles happen in times of despair.

He says the drive reminds us of the real meaning of Christmas in spreading joy and happiness regardless of what is happening in the world around us.

Deo says launched in 2022, PRF’s Christmas and Stationery Drive for the children of CPR is about more than just giving gifts, it is about giving hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging to children and families who are often overlooked.

He says these families live in poverty-stricken communities where essentials like food and shelter take precedence over school supplies or toys and too often, they gather discarded items from dumpsites to give their children something to smile about during Christmas.

The founder says this initiative lifts that burden and affirms that every child, regardless of their background, deserves a Christmas gift, and it ensures the children of the CPR not only receive toys but also essential school stationery to help prepare them for the upcoming school year.

PRF has acknowledged generous partners and individuals who have supported this drive, including Pacific Energy, Vinod Patel & Company Ltd, Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Tourism Fiji, PHAMA Plus, Marsh, Fiji Development Bank, Rotaract Club of Suva, Digicel Pacific, Capital Legal, Selfless Fiji, Lautoka City Council, Labasa Town Council, Ba Town Council, Vivid Media, Autoworld Trading Fiji Ltd, FMF Foods Limited, and many individuals whose kindness continues to bring joy to those who deserve it most.
