57 people arrested in the last 24 hours for breach of health and curfew orders

57 people were arrested for breaching curfew orders and the health restrictions in the last 24 hours with majority of the arrests linked to grog or alcohol consumption.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says the Southern Division recorded 30 cases including 7 people who were all found drinking grog in Cunningham, 4 were found loitering along in Vatuwaqa while 5 cases of breaching curfew orders were recorded in Raiwaqa.

Tudravu says 2 men in their 20’s were found intoxicated at the Lagilagi Housing area in Raiwaqa, while 5 other cases related to alcohol were recorded in Navua while a 20-year-old man was found loitering in Samabula during curfew hours.

He says 3 men in their 20’s were found drunk and loitering in Nepani while three other cases of loitering during curfew hours were recorded in Tacirua.

Tudravu says of the 18 cases recorded in the Western Division, 7 people were found drinking alcohol in Lautoka while a 31-year-old taxi driver was found carrying more than 50 percent passenger capacity.

3 men in their 20’s were found drunk during curfew hours in Lautoka while seven people were arrested for grog consumption in Namaka.

The Eastern Division recorded 9 cases whereby 6 men including a woman were arrested for being intoxicated at Nakorovou in Rewa, 2 men in their 20’s were found loitering in Naivicula during curfew hours while a 35-year-old farmer was found loitering in Davuilevu Housing during curfew hours.
