5 police officers and 4 juveniles charged with serious offences in October

Five police officers and four juveniles were charged with serious offences last month.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, a 33-year-old police officer was charged with the theft of $1,967 from the Judicial Department while in another incident, a 21-year-old police officer was charged with the theft of $850 from a man’s bank account by using the victim’s EFTPOS card.

A 29-year-old police officer was charged with one count of failure to obey traffic directions, one count of failure to supply a specimen of breath and one count of disorderly conduct in a police station.

There were two separate incidents where a 32-year-old and 33-year-old police officers were charged with dangerous driving.

There were 66 people charged with a total of 76 counts of separate incidents in October.

The juveniles were charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and theft offences.

Amongst the four juveniles, one 15-year-old boy was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of $41.35 from his school teacher’s purse.

A 37-year-old man was charged with the attempted murder of his de facto partner.

A 27-year-old man was charged with an act with intent to cause grievous harm for allegedly pouring hot oil over his 20-year-old wife.

In another incident, a 20-year-old man was charged with an act with intent to cause grievous harm for allegedly striking his wife with a knife.

A 32-year-old man was charged with an attempt to commit arson for allegedly trying to set fire to his brother’s house.
