30 youths will now become income generators for their families after completing a three-day training on Mobile Skills Training on screen printing with tie & dye in Lautoka.

The training was conducted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in partnership with the Lautoka Women’s Forum.

While officiating at the closing of training, Minister for Youth and Sports, Parveen Bala says the training is part of Government's effort in ensuring the rights of youth under the constitution are protected and every youth has the right to economic participation.

He says this gives youths the freedom to choose their work, trade, occupation, profession or other means of livelihood and the government will take reasonable measures within its available resources to achieve the progressive realisation of their rights.

Bala says screen printing and tie & dye are regarded as highly skilled work for many creative young people and it is a skill they aspire to learn.

The training brought together four different youth groups in the Western division, namely Vadraiyawasewa Youth Club, Kia Vata Youth Club, Koroipita Youth Club, and Kaleli Youth Club.
