The suspect was arrested by a team of officers from Totogo that were out on mobile patrol.

Police say the man has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

Meanwhile, Police conducted a raid along Rewa Street on Sunday and two men in their 30’s were arrested after they were found with a plastic bag containing sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

In the Eastern Division, officers conducted a raid at a farm belonging to a 33-year-old farmer of Nayavu, Wainibuka and discovered more than 20 pots of green plants ranging from 30-60 cm believed to be marijuana.

Police say they also raided a house in Nakasi on Sunday where two men were arrested following the search conducted by the K9 Unit resulted in the seizure of rolls of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

In the Western Division, a 23-year-old farmer of Navuavua Village in Rakiraki was arrested on Sunday following the discovery of a bag containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana, while in another case, a 35-old-woman of Yaladro, Tavua is currently in custody after she was allegedly found with dried leaves wrapped in aluminum foil believed to be marijuana.

In the Northern Division, a 27-year-old farmer was searched by an officer in Savusavu on Sunday and was allegedly found with a bottle containing bullets of dried leaves wrapped in aluminum foil believed to be marijuana.
