24 police prosecutors attend ODPP Basic Prosecution Course

24 police prosecutors are undergoing a six week Basic Prosecution Course facilitated by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

While speaking at the launch, the Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Dr Andrew Jack says the course is designed to teach the prosecutors proper trial advocacy skills through case scenarios and moot court practices where their advocacy skills will be put to the test.

He says prosecuting is not easy but every day they will learn something new, there will be a new challenge, a new problem to solve.

This course is a mixture of theory and practical exercises designed to equip prosecutors with basic trial preparation and advocacy skills at the bar table.
