The Ministry of Economy has so far paid out around $86 million to over 238,000 Fijians as part of the second round of the Government's $360 unemployment assistance.
Acting Permanent Secretary for Economy, Shiri Gounder says today, the Ministry paid out an additional $12.6 million to around 35,000 Fijians, bringing the total payout to around $86 million.
This additional payout follows further assessments on the employment status of applicants based on their October 2021 FNPF contributions, correction of TIN details which were incorrectly provided by the applicant and updated vaccination records of applicants as of 31st October.
Gounder says the Government has so far paid out a total of around $430 million in direct income support to affected Fijians since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
