Members of the Kaiviti Silktails presented their i-tatau to President Jioji Konrote today.

It will be a moment to cherish forever for 22 players as they will be travelling abroad for the first time when they represent the Kaiviti Silktails in the Ron Massey Cup in Australia.

The Ron Massey Cup is the third tier rugby league competition in New South Wales.

The team of 28 players will depart once they get the green light from the Queensland government.

Coach Wes Naiqama says playing in the Ron Massey Cup represents a big opportunity for these players to either get a contract in the NSW Cup or ultimately the NRL.

Naiqama says they will be based in Australia for 8 months and they are making sure that the players feel at home.

The team played one match in the competition last year before it got suspended due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile the team presented their i-tatau to President Jioji Konrote today.

Konrote told the players that even though they’re playing in the third tier, they have the ability to beat teams in the top tier.

He also congratulated the players on being selected for the team.
