The maintenance work for the Father Law Home in Wailekutu, Lami received a great boost today after the Rotary Club of Suva Peninsula Sunset donated financial support valued at $20,000.

Rotary Club of Suva Penisula Sunset President Jason Chandra says this humble financial contribution will go towards the much-needed repairs and maintenance works at the Father Law Home, which includes wheelchair accessibility.

He says they believe that through their modest efforts, they can make a meaningful contribution to the lives of the residents.

Chandra says the dedication shown by the staff of the Father Law Home in caring for the 24 residents is a beacon of inspiration.

He says the elderly, often likened to irreplaceable pearls within the family setting, fulfil a distinctive role through their learned guidance and continuous blessings.

He adds the privilege of tending to their well-being is indeed a profound blessing, with the assurance that such acts of kindness yield manifold blessings in return.

The Club President says in June this year, their awareness was piqued by Father Law Home's pressing need for financial support to address critical maintenance concerns at its facility.

Chandra says their Club rallied to their aid.

He says in July, they embarked on a charitable event that raised around $7,000, but yet, the magnitude of requisite repair outlay remained, with a shortfall of approximately $14,000.

He further says it is with profound gratitude that they acknowledge the response of their Club members and among them, the eminent Rotarian Champak Kapadia of Brijlal Fiji, who emerged as a generous donor, pledging $10,000 to this meritorious cause followed by kind contributions from four of their fellow Rotarians and friends of Rotary at $1,000 each, bringing the total funds raised to $20,000 to be able to fully fund this Project.

The President adds the unstinted support shown reminds them of the collective strength of their Rotary Club of Suva Peninsula Sunset family, who through their selflessness and generosity, commit themselves to uplifting communities.

He says their generous patronage significantly supported another ongoing Rotary project: the refurbishment of the Valelevu Health Centre to a value of up to $40,000, an undertaking by their club that benefits a population between 80,000 to 100,000.

He also says within the panorama of their Club's initiatives, the years in passing saw the realization of two solar power systems benefiting Vatani Village in Tailevu and the Kaba Village Hall.
