The Chief Financial Officer of Lyndhurst Pte Ltd Manoa Kamikamica is calling on the iTaukei in Fiji to get vaccinated as 200 of their iTaukei workers are currently not working because they do not want to get vaccinated.

Kamikamica highlighted this while speaking during the Tailevu Provincial Youth Council Facebook live session.

He says during this second wave of COVID outbreak, a woman who worked for them tested positive for COVID, and this resulted in the closure of their business for 5 weeks.

Kamikamica says from that time they knew that they had to change their strategy and this was why from the 21st of June, they did not allow people who have not been vaccinated to come to work.

He says they have about 1,000 workers and 600 of them went voluntarily to get vaccinated.

Kamikamica says right now 800 workers have received their first jab and 200 have received their second jab.

He says the sad reality is that the other 200 who do not want to be vaccinated are iTaukei.

Kamikamica says they keep on encouraging the other 200 to get vaccinated and hopefully one day they will return to work after they get vaccinated.
