16 KPMG offices unite to support three women shelters in Fiji, PNG and Australia

In their fight against gender-based violence, KPMG has brought together 16 of its offices across the Pacific and Australia to support three women’s shelters, including DIVA D-Hive hub in Nadi.

KPMG Fiji’s Managing Partner Lisa Apted says what started as a local effort in their Fiji offices has grown into a powerful global movement, with teams unified in their support.

She says KPMG’s significant charity donations to shelters in Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Australia are a testament to their dedication to creating meaningful change.

Meanwhile, the DIVA D-Hive hub in Nadi provides accompaniment to police stations, medical and social services, CV assistance, and essential items such as food and interview clothing.

KPMG Enterprise National Managing Partner Naomi Mitchell says gender-based violence affects one in three women globally and remains a pervasive crisis worldwide.

She says the initiative to wear black every Thursday under the "Wear It Black" campaign is a gesture of solidarity for survivors and victims, uniting teams and raising awareness.

Mitchell says KPMG employees across Australia and the South Pacific are also supporting the 16 Days of Activism campaign, which started yesterday and ends on the 10th of the next month.

This year's theme is “Safe, Everywhere, Always”.
