13 families of Boroboro settlement will now have access to consistent and clean drinking water

Good news for 13 families residing in Boroboro settlement Lekutu, Bua, as they now have access to consistent, clean and safe drinking water after the commissioning of the Boroboro Water Project by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Sakiasi Ditoka.

While commissioning the project, Ditoka highlighted that prioritising the needs of the people can lead to transformative outcomes.

He says Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development funded the project with a total investment of $40,962 which will benefit 40 individuals who will be healthier and happier to chase their dreams.

He also acknowledged the United Nations Development Programme for their invaluable contribution to the installation of a solar system for $12,462 to ensure a sustainable and efficient pumping mechanism from the borehole to the water tank.

Ditoka says the project is a reflection of the government's steadfast commitment to ensuring every Fijian has the opportunity to thrive and flourish with access to clean, safe and quality drinking water.

He further says the project will provide a positive impact, especially on the vulnerable and persons with disabilities.
