12 people appeared in court today for allegedly breaching the COVID-19 restrictions in the Lautoka lockdown area.

All have being charged with disobedience of lawful order.

The first accused is Maika Ratu of Yanuya Island who is alleged to have tried to transport people out of Viseisei after being warned.

Ratu has being bailed and his case will be called again on the 11th of May.

The second and third accused are 50 year old Sanita Lata from Naikabula, and 32 year old Pritika Priteshni Reddy of Natabua Seaside.

The two allegedly entered Lautoka area via boat through Anchorage Jetty from Nadi after returning from overseas.

Lata and Reddy have been released on bail and matter will be called again on the 22nd of June.

Sunia Naikamoce, Aliki Masi and Josaia Natakele also appeared in court today for allegedly entering the Lautoka area by boat through Viseisei Village seashore.

The three have been released on bail and ordered not to change address and to report to Lautoka Police Station every Tuesday.

Aktar Ali, Nishhed Zaveed Ali, Mohammed Iftikar Khan and Manueli Fue allegedly entered the Lautoka waters by boat at Nacilau. All have been released on bail and the matter will be called again on the 22nd of June.

41 year old Vijendra Jain is alleged to have refused to close down a DVD shop after being warned.

Amit Kumar of Waiyavi Stage 5 is alleged to have refused to close down a grog shop after being warned.
