As 11 children have lost their lives due to cancer this year and 81 battling this disease, BSP Financial Group Limited has donated $15,000 to the Walk on Walk Strong Kids Fiji Foundation to support these children.

According to WOWS Kids Fiji, research shows there is an average of 20 new cases of childhood cancer reported in Fiji every year and majority of children living with cancer are from families that require financial and other forms of assistance.

BSP Country Head Haroon Ali says their donation will go towards ensuring these children have access to their treatment and receive the much-needed support during their journey towards remission and recovery.

Ali says from 2010 to date, their support for WOWS has surpassed $150,000.

WOWS Kids Foundation co-founder, Sina Kami welcomed BSP’s support which arrived as a timely Christmas gift for deserving children who are in the fight of their lives.

Kami says maintaining their services to the children and their families is proving to be a challenge at this time of the pandemic.

She says WOWS team is committed to helping ease some burden off these families and help to better care for their sick children.

Kami says the sad reality is that a large number of their childhood cancer cases reach the Paediatric Oncology Unit at advanced stages where chances of survival are low.
