In the last financial year from 1st August 2022 to 31st July 2023, the Fiji Police Force recorded a 10 percent decrease in crime rate.

This was highlighted by Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew while delivering his speech at the Fiji Police Force Annual Corporate Plan announcement today.

He says this achievement portrays how effectively they have implemented their plan in their last financial year and how they utilised their budget well to deliver their services.

Chew says their overall performance is measured by their Key Performance Indicator achievement.

He adds it is critical to understand the effectiveness of their strategies which will be reflected in the achievements of their KPIs.

Chew says the quarterly monitoring of the Police's activities will allow them to identify their success and areas where improvements can be made.

He says it also ensures accountability allowing the officers and stakeholders to track their progress and hold each other responsible for achieving goals.

He further says the Fiji Police remain committed to their work, together with their key stakeholders and relevant partners and will work together, to guide their decision-making processes to address crimes for the benefit of our people.

Chew says with the $183.7m budget that the government has allocated to the Fiji Police Force, he is adamant that they will continue to commit themselves to their duties and stride towards injecting more energy into their work and achieving milestone in this financial year.
