Fijians in the Central Division are pleading to the Ministry of Health and the Nasinu Town Council as they are concerned about the rising number of mosquitoes that is believed to have come from the poor schedule they provide for green waste and white goods collection in each area.

Many are worried if there might be a Dengue Fever outbreak in the Country and without proper monitoring from the Ministry of Health and the Town Councils, there will come a day when there will be an outbreak of Dengue Fever in the area and the transmission of other diseases.

People now believe that the Town Council are not stepping up to their responsibility by having inspections and organising major cleanups that are highlighted under their policy.

While replying to questions being raised, Acting CEO of Nasinu Town Council Imran Khan says that they have faced many challenges regarding this issue where residents do not follow the collection schedule.

Khan says they are mobilising their enforcement officers to look into those that are placing out their rubbish when its convenient to them and they will be held accountable with a fine.

fijivillage News has sent questions to the Ministry of Health and is waiting for their response.
