Lyndhurst and New World Group of Companies will be employing more than 10,000 people through their multi-million dollar projects in Lautoka and Kalabu respectively.

Lyndhurst Group of Companies will be investing in the Kalabu Tax-Free Zone over an 8 year period which will employ more than 10,000 people.

The project will begin in 2022.

Senior Legal Counsel Temalesi Sikuri says the project will be completed in three phases which will include service apartments and supermarkets.

On the other hand, New World Group of Companies will invest $30 million to consolidate their four existing warehouses into one in Wairabetia, Lautoka which would employ more than 300 people.

This is the first phase of a $110 million project which is expected to begin in 6 months.

The project will include a distribution centre with fresh and frozen facility, a bakery, and a centralized kitchen which would allow them to supply affordable meals to people.

Chief Operating Officer Peter Royce says this will be the largest project that New World has undertaken since its inception in the early 1930’s.
