More than 13,000 Fiji National Provident Fund members will receive their first payment today for Phase 3 of the COVID-19 withdrawal, which is specifically for members who are still employed but on reduced pay.

A total of $3.3 million will be paid out to these members.

$2.46 million has come from members’ general accounts and $863,961 has been paid by the government.

CEO, Jaoji Koroi says these members would be paid according to their current working arrangements.

He says Phase 3 is aimed at supplementing these members’ income which would have decreased due to the reduction in their hours or wage rate.

Koroi also confirms the myFNPF mobile app is temporarily unavailable.

He says due to recent policy changes by both Google and Apple, the Fund is encountering delays in updating the myFNPF mobile app that was recently enhanced to accommodate the new requirements for Phase 2 Round 2.

Koroi says the Fund is corresponding with Google to rectify the situation and to hopefully have the mobile app back online on Play Store soon.

Koroi says the members can lodge their Phase 2 Round 2 applications through their previous/current employer or they can lodge at the nearest FNPF office and FNPF staff will assist in the onboarding and application submission for members.

The first payment cycle for Phase 2 Round 2 is scheduled for 1st September 2020.

Members will have submit their applications by this Friday.
