Swire Shipping Fijian Drua star winger Ponipate Loganimasi believes that it is through teamwork that he is able to score tries for the team this season.
Joining the Drua from the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side, the 26-year-old has never looked back and has been consistent with his performance out on the wing.
Loganimasi has scored 4 tries in 3 appearances so far this season for the Drua and has accumulated 20 points.
Loganimasi says he is just a finisher out on the wing and all the hard work is being done by the rest of his teammates, especially the forwards.
When talking about the win over the Chiefs, the Ono-i-Lau man says the 3 consecutive losses in the first three matches of the season have been hurting them as they were giving the game away in the last 3-4 minutes of the match when they should have won.
He says coming into the game against the Chiefs, they talked about it as a team that they will need to play till the final whistle because they do not want to lose again in front of their home fans.
Loganimasi was instrumental in the win, setting up a try for fullback Vuate Karawalevu and also scoring a well-worked try through individual brilliance.
Meanwhile, the Drua are currently in 8th place now with 7 points in the overall Super Rugby Pacific points table.
They will take on the Brumbies at 8.35pm Friday at GIO Stadium in Canberra.
In other matches this week, the Highlanders will play the Hurricanes at 6.05pm Friday, the Crusaders will take on the Western Force at 3.35pm Saturday, the Chiefs will battle the Blues at 6.05pm Saturday, and the Reds will play the Waratahs at 8.35pm Saturday.
