Intimidation tactics will not deter officers from conducting their duties and ensure a safe and conducive environment for all during this festive season and the Force is calling on members of the public to cooperate with them.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Livai Driu, says as operational efforts have increased with snap checks, raids and task forces deployed around the country to curb criminal activities, they expect resistance from criminal activities.

ACP Driu says there has also been a number of reported incidents against policing efforts in the last few days and such behavior will not be condoned.

Driu says there have been incidents of police officers being assaulted during the execution of their duties and operational resources being damaged.

He further says this is often the trend when police increase operations, however such actions do not daunt officers and nether will it affect the momentum of operations.

He adds police will come down hard on those who through their actions are deliberately trying to interfere operations and is urging everyone to allow Police to conduct their work.
