Thirty Police officers, who completed the Constable Qualifying Course, were reminded to ensure that proper application of the knowledge gained during their training is applied to their work.

The two-week course was closed by the Director of Training, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Serupepeli Neiko.

SSP Neiko says now that they have completed their CQC training, the Force will expect more from them.

He says the reality is, whether someone holds the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police or Special Constable, they are all equal in the eyes of the public as they don’t see rank but the uniform and expect exceptional service.

The Constable Qualifying Course was co-facilitated by the New Zealand Police, working with the Fiji Police Force under the Fiji Police Partnership Programme.

NZ Police Senior Advisors have been working with the Fiji Police Training Division, adding value to current training programs for all ranks.

SSP Neiko acknowledged the support of the New Zealand Police Senior Advisors, highlighting that during their on-the-job training, they would have had a fair idea of how demanding policing is and stressed that it is just the tip of the iceberg.

The CQC training has been revamped, incorporating a more hands-on approach to learning to help them understand the complexities of policing and that all reports are different, as the elements will vary.
